Color steel sheet and sandwich panel
The primary application. A cool cut leaves the coating intact at the edge, which is what the finished building shows.
Diamond cutting discs for colour steel sheet, sandwich panel, thin-walled tube and rebar — a cold cut with no burr, no sparks and no abrasive dust.
A bonded abrasive disc cuts steel by wearing itself away, which leaves a burr, throws sparks and fills the air with dust. A diamond disc cuts by grinding a narrow channel, so the edge stays square and the panel coating is not burned back. On colour steel and sandwich panel that difference is visible on the finished building. Hubei Qianzhao Diamond Tools Co., Ltd (Ezhou, Hubei) produces 100,000 blades and 3 million segments a year and exports to 14 countries.
Disc type, segment height and bore are confirmed on quotation against the material thickness and the machine.
Because an abrasive disc changes the workpiece: it burns the coating, leaves a burr that has to be dressed, and puts abrasive dust into the air. A diamond disc leaves a square, cool edge that goes straight to assembly.
| What you are cutting | What to ask for |
|---|---|
| Color steel sheet and sandwich panel | Fine diamond rim, low feed — no burn-back on the coating, no burr to dress |
| Thin-walled tube and profile | Rigid thin core to stop deflection as the disc breaks through |
| Rebar and small section steel | Coarser diamond on a reinforced core — steel is ductile and loads the bond |
| Stainless and coated steel | Dedicated bond so the disc does not smear the surface |
The gain is not only edge quality. An abrasive disc is consumed as it cuts, so the diameter shrinks and the operator has to keep changing discs. A diamond disc holds its diameter, which is why it is used on production lines where the cut has to be repeatable.
Only what is fixed at series level is listed here. Segment height, core thickness and maximum rpm depend on the diameter and the material — they are confirmed on your quotation.
| Product name | Metal & Color Steel Cutting Disc 100–355 mm |
|---|---|
| Diameter range | 100, 115, 125, 180, 230, 355 mm / 4"–14" |
| Bore | 20 mm and 22.23 mm other bores and reducing rings on request |
| Cut type | Cold cut no burr, no sparks, no abrasive dust |
| Segment type | Diamond rim continuous or segmented depending on material |
| Steel core | Hardened steel core thickness confirmed on quotation |
| Cutting method | Dry wet available for fixed machines |
| Maximum speed | Confirmed on quotation printed on every disc |
| Primary materials | Color steel sheet, sandwich panel, thin-walled tube, rebar, small section steel |
| Compatible equipment | Angle grinder, chop saw, cut-off saw |
| Minimum order | 10 pieces per size |
Hand-held work uses 100–230 mm on an angle grinder; fixed chop saws take 355 mm. All sizes are cold-cutting.
| Diameter | Inch | Typical machine | Typical job |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100 mm | 4" | Angle grinder | Color steel sheet, trim, cut-outs |
| 115 mm | 4.5" | Angle grinder | Sandwich panel, roofing sheet |
| 125 mm | 5" | Angle grinder | Panel and profile, general fabrication |
| 180 mm | 7" | Angle grinder / cut-off saw | Tube, angle, thicker sheet |
| 230 mm | 9" | Angle grinder | Section steel, rebar bundles |
| 355 mm | 14" | Chop / cut-off saw | Repeatable cuts in the workshop |
Segment height, core thickness and maximum rpm are set per diameter and confirmed on the quotation. Never exceed the maximum rpm printed on the disc.
Built for sheet, panel and light section on grinders and chop saws. Selection should account for the material thickness, whether it is coated, and whether the cut is free-hand or fixed.
The primary application. A cool cut leaves the coating intact at the edge, which is what the finished building shows.
A rigid thin core stops the disc deflecting as it breaks through the far wall, which is where tube cuts usually go wrong.
Ductile steel loads a fine bond, so a coarser diamond and a steady feed are used. Reduce the feed as the disc exits the cut.
Laser-marked or printed logo on the core, matching the artwork you supply. Disc diameter limits the printable area — confirm with us before ordering.
Skin packaging, colour boxes and neutral export cartons — including cartons with no branding for distributors.
Bore, rim type and diamond bond can be set for a specific material or machine, subject to a minimum order quantity per specification.
Qianzhao has been making diamond tools in Ezhou, Hubei for seven years. The plant produces 100,000 blades and 3 million diamond segments a year, and exports to 14 countries.
Diamond rims for metal are welded and dressed in-house. Bond hardness is the variable that decides whether the disc cuts cold or smears the material, and it is set per order.
On thin sheet and panel it is comparable, and the edge needs no dressing afterwards. On thick solid steel an abrasive disc or a carbide saw is still faster — diamond suits sheet, panel, tube and light section.
No. The cut is cold, so the coating at the edge is not burned back. That is the main reason roofing and cladding contractors use it.
Only with a bond dedicated to stainless. A standard bond will smear the surface and leave a discoloured edge. Tell us the grade when you inquire.
20 mm and 22.23 mm are standard for angle grinders. Other bores and reducing rings can be supplied — state the arbor when you inquire.
10 pieces per size for stock specifications. Mixed sizes can be combined in one order.
Share the order quantity, cutting machine, material and destination market so your inquiry can be reviewed clearly.
